What does the bot check when I send a NIP?

It pulls the VAT status from the Ministry of Finance white list (Wykaz podatników VAT), validates EU numbers in VIES, and runs risk rules: the PLN 15,000 joint-liability threshold, whether the invoice bank account is on the white list, split payment (MPP), and reverse charge. Each check is saved as a due-diligence proof.

Why this matters

The white list is not a formality. Paying a contractor on an account outside the register — on a transaction above PLN 15,000 — exposes you to joint liability for their VAT and can knock the expense out of your tax-deductible costs. A fast, logged check is the cheapest insurance there is, and the exported proof is what documents your due diligence if anyone ever asks.
